Learn. Grow. Become
I have worked with with individuals of all races and sexual orientations, and most belief systems. In addition to my private practice, I have worked in settings that include prisons, substance abuse treatment facilities, and college counseling centers. The most important thing that I have learned is that everyone is a unique individual. I am willing to put in the effort to find out who you are so we can work together to make things better.
I have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Coherence Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy. At the University of Memphis, I taught courses in crisis intervention, communication, theories of counseling, and personality and cognitive assessment. I use an evidence-based integrated approach to work with you to create an individually tailored treatment plan.
Extensive research has shown that the most important factor in positive client outcomes is the relationship between the client and the therapist. That being said I work in a manner that is collaborative. I will never be more of an expert on you then you are. However, if for some reason you decide you don't want to work with me, or I feel someone else would do a better job at helping you, I will work with you to find the best therapist for you.
